I’ll be using this blog to interact with you about Songs in the Night, expanding on some of the topics in it and blogging on some of the ideas related to my book. This is a great place for you to get to know me, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you, too. What did you think of Songs in the Night? What questions do you have for me? How do you relate to my book?
I’ll be returning here frequently with new posts and responses to feedback from you. Until next time, tell me a little bit about yourself.
Beverly’s memoir spiritual journey was inspiring to read as a Christian testimony. I always find it fascinating to read about other people’s lives, the choices they make, and the directions life takes them. Beverly recalls her experiences professionally written in detail which reads like a report diary journal of events throughout her life. I felt there needed to be a little more in the feelings and emotions she was experiencing as she recollects her amazing journey behind the scenes of her evangelical ministry experiences and romantic relationships. Having been involved with similar evangelical ministries I related to her church experiences. I was involved in one of the same early ministries Beverly was in the mid-1970s. My perspective and experiences were very different from hers after knowing the main characters. I respect Beverly because she had a lot more grace than I did as a young man at the time after I moved on. I had to learn my own life lessons over time. I found that Beverly’s sacrificial agape love in those she has served in ministry and relationships is a real testimony of her character from her upbringing in her home life. However, it came with a price in the growing pains of the trials she experienced up to the point of her writing volume I of her memoir that leaves you with a cliffhanger about what happens next.
